What is E-Zborrow?

The Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI) provides access to books, through the E-ZBorrow system, that are not available in the Connelly Library. With the E-ZBorrow virtual catalog, you can simultaneously search the catalogs of over fifty academic libraries in Pennsylvania, West Virginia University, and Rutgers University and Seton Hall University in New Jersey.

At this time, only books are provided through E-ZBorrow. If you need other types of materials, such as dissertations, microforms, videos, and copies of articles, use interlibrary loan.

Why should I use E-ZBorrow?

You can save time by using E-ZBorrow. Since E-ZBorrow is a form of patron-initiated interlibrary loan, the interlibrary loan staff does not have to perform the usual steps of verifying and locating the books that you need. You can submit your book requests to libraries whose catalogs indicate that the books are available.

Who is eligible to use E-ZBorrow?

All current La Salle University faculty, students, and staff who are in good standing with the library can request books through E-ZBorrow.

You need a valid ID card and an up-to-date library circulation record to request books through E-ZBorrow.

How do I submit a request?

Select Borrow from Other Libraries on the library's home page. Under PALCI E-ZBorrow, select Submit a Request. Enter your Patron ID (the 14-digit barcode on the back of your ID card) and select Searching/Requesting.

If you do not find the book you need in E-ZBorrow, request it through interlibrary loan.

How long does take?

Most books are received within one week or less.

Is there a charge for using E-ZBorrow?

You will not be charged for borrowing books through E-ZBorrow, but you will be held financially responsible for any damage or loss while books borrowed through E-ZBorrow are in your possession.

How will I be notified when books are received?

E-ZBorrow will automatically notify you by email when books are received.

Where do I pick up and return books?

You can pick up and return books borrowed through E-ZBorrow at the Information Desk in the Connelly Library.

How long can books be used after they are received?

Books are checked out through E-ZBorrow for four weeks. You can renew books borrowed through E-ZBorrow for one four-week loan period. To renew a book borrowed through E-ZBorrow (blue bookband), select Renew Your Books/View Your Record on the library's home page.

How do I check the status of a request?

Select "Borrow from Other Libraries" on the library's home page. Under E-ZBorrow, select Submit a Request. Enter your Patron ID (the 14-digit barcode on the back of your ID card) and select "Review Your Requests."
