We've all heard of time capsules. Think of an archives as a "walk-in" time capsule. It's a place where items which are of permanent value to La Salle are collected and preserved--from vintage books to historic video tapes, from annual reports to classic pennants and freshman beanies.
The Art Museum at La Salle University opened its doors in 1976 as cultural resource for the communities surrounding the University and for the University's own students, especially those majoring in art history. Its art collection represents the only permanent display of paintings, drawings, and sculpture of the Western tradition offered by a university museum in the area. At present, the collection is housed in a series of period rooms in the lower level of Olney Hall on the main campus.
The Museum offers a rare opportunity to experience the pleasures and insights of good art in an intimate, comprehensible space. And this encounter is happily enjoyed and supported by an increasing public.
