FAQs about TutorTrac

1. What is TutorTrac?
TutorTrac is La Salle University’s on-line tutoring appointment management system.

2. What does TutorTrac do?
TutorTrac enables La Salle students to search for tutors in a variety of subject areas and to schedule tutoring appointments. However, math tutoring, except for very limited tutoring in Math 114 and Math 150, is not available for scheduling through TutorTrac. Math tutoring is organized by the Math department and is available on a drop-in basis in the Math Lab that is located in 124 Olney Hall. The Math department will post the Math Lab schedule.

3. How does TutorTrac work?
TutorTrac allows students to view both the subjects for which tutors are available and the list of available tutors in specific subjects. Students can then choose a tutor based on subjects offered and tutors’ time availability. TutorTrac will email both student and tutor a reminder of the appointment.

4. Who can use TutorTrac?
Anyone enrolled at La Salle can schedule a writing center appointment, and any enrolled undergraduate can access general tutoring through TutorTrac.

5. How can a student access TutorTrac?
TutorTrac is accessed through mylasalle, at the student services tab, from any computer with an Internet connection. This works best if you use computers equipped with Internet Explorer Version 6.

6. When can a student access TutorTrac?
La Salle students can access TutorTrac 24/7 to make appointments after using the program to check when tutoring is available. Tutoring is not available 24/7.

7. Can a student schedule tutoring in every subject by using TutorTrac?
No, that is not possible. If you need tutoring in a subject not listed in TutorTrac, please contact Mary Robertson, by email at robertso@lasalle.edu, by phone at 215-951-1299, or visit her at her office in Olney 203. Mary will discuss options and strategies with you.

8. Why should a student use TutorTrac?
TutorTrac offers a convenient way to find out what tutoring services are available and makes it easy to schedule tutoring appointments, aiding in the quest for academic success.

9. Are appointments necessary in order to get tutoring?
Although appointments are highly recommended for the writing center, students can use the writing center on a drop-in basis if a tutor is available (Olney Hall 203). However, for tutoring in other subjects, it is necessary to schedule an appointment.
