Met Her
david falcone

Met her on the first day, met her on my back
loved her before I knew her, before I was on track
didn't take me too long, to find it wasn't all that bad
she gave me comfort, gave me life, and I gave her nothing back

Then explain to me, why I felt I should run away
the only time I'd know, there'd be no the price to pay

She walked in eight years later, things were pretty good
she asked me what I wanted, as best I understood
I gave her an answer, she walked me to the park
and though it's been a long time, still stinging from the spark

Then explain to me, why I felt that I should run away
and what's all this got to do with the price I had to pay

Only waited seven years before she reappeared
helped me to write my music, taught me what to fear
When she looked into my eyes, she stole my heart away
returned it a few days later, fixed a different way

Then explain to me, why I didn't  run away
and what's all this got to do with the price I had to pay

Now that I'm a grown man,
and I've learned what you've wanted me to
you live in every woman, not only in the chosen few
so when I least expect it, you'll show up in the light
blind me with your beauty, and visit me at night

Then explain to me, why I won't  run away
and what's all this got to do with the price I'm going to pay
