Minutes from March 26, 2002

 

J     St. Patty’s Day- we made about $40, about $15 profit

J     April 12th is the Smorgasbord of Fun hosted by Miguel/ TC/ LA.  We want to run a booth of face painting and we need people to stay at the booth and we will need supplies: paint, brushes, cups, artists, and cardboard. 

J     We’ve come up with some ideas for our constitution after looking at the constitution for CARE.  We need one so we can be considered an official organization on campus.

Goal:

-          To raise awareness about the organization

-          To raise money for Operation Smile

-          To gain recognition so we can send one of our members on a mission

 

Programs:

-          Fundraising

-          High School Awareness programs

-          Participation in campus activities

-          Educate health care professionals

-          Interaction with local community

-          Cooperation with events with other campus organizations

-          Talking to other students in a classroom setting

 

Elections

-          Will be held in late February

-          Short biographies should be posted by candidates running for Presidency after they have given a speech to the group as a whole

-          Voting will be the following week

-          Only active members can vote.  Active members are defined as members that have participated in the organization for at least 1 full semester and have attended 50% or more meetings
